If nobody has come along to match Rose, his legacy also lies in a generation of artists fired up by his spirit. To the people that knew and played with him, the late guitarist Jack Rose was a towering example of virtuosity and dedication, interweaving ragtime, pre-war blues, raga and American primitivism.
